ABOUt ROWIE
I have been married to my husband, Bruce, for 50 years, and I am the proud mother of three accomplished sons serving in the U.S. Air Force, the FBI, and the finance industry. I am also a grandmother to eleven, and family remains at the center of my life. I served four years on the Shell Lake City Council before being elected Mayor, and I am now completing my first term. As Mayor of Shell Lake, I have made transparency, open communication, and accessibility top priorities, working to ensure residents feel informed and involved in local decision-making. Outside of public service, I enjoy running, playing pickleball, hiking, and spending time with friends.
VOLUNTEER EXPERIENCE
My commitment to service extends well beyond local government. I have participated in four medical mission trips to Africa, including work with Children’s Surgery International, helping establish a nursing school and HIV/AIDS clinic on two separate trips, and serving for seven weeks in Liberia with an Ebola Treatment Team during the height of the crisis. Closer to home, I have served as Co-Chair of the Shell Lake Fine Arts Festival, supported Relay for Life, and was a charter member working alongside the Shell Lake Art Center and the School District to establish community pickleball leagues. I have also participated in and volunteered for the Shell Lake Lions Triathlon, continually investing my time and energy into strengthening the Shell Lake community.
